Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what CareGhar collects, why, who can see it, and how you can have it deleted. It follows Nepal's Individual Privacy Act, 2075.
What we collect
• Account: name, mobile number, optional email, password (stored only as a one-way hash), language. • Patients you add: name, date of birth, gender, contact and emergency contact, address, and the health details you choose to give (conditions, allergies, medications, mobility, care needs). • Bookings and payments: services, dates, addresses, amounts, payment status and gateway reference numbers. • Professionals: identity and qualification documents, profile photo, rates, availability and service areas. • Device: a push notification token if you allow notifications.
What we do not collect
We do not see or store your eSewa or Khalti credentials — you enter them on the gateway's own page. We do not track your location in the background, and we do not sell your data.
Who can see it
• The professional assigned to a visit sees the patient details needed for that visit, and only while the booking is active. • Authorised CareGhar staff see what their role requires; every view of health information or documents is written to an audit log. • Payment gateways (eSewa, Khalti) receive the amount and a booking reference to process your payment. • We disclose information to authorities only when Nepali law requires it.
Camera and photos
The app asks for the camera and photo library only when you choose to upload a profile photo, verification document or complaint attachment. Nothing is taken without you pressing the button.
How we protect it
All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Sign-in tokens are kept in your phone's secure keystore. Documents are never on public links; staff open them through short-lived, logged access.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. Booking, payment and invoice records are kept for as long as Nepal's tax and accounting rules require, without your name once you delete your account.
Your rights and deleting your account
You can view and correct your details in the app at any time. To delete your account, go to Account → Delete account, or visit careghar.com/delete-account. Deletion erases your name, phone, email, patients' health details, documents and photos immediately.
